Democratic capitalism

"the cash register is the daily voting booth in democratic capitalism."

Paul Hawken, The Ecology of Commerce. A Declaration of Sustainability. (Chapter "The inestimable gift of a future").

It is good to remind ourselves of that. We can blame companies for polluting, exploiting workers, and other mischiefs, but often they do that because we ask for it: we care more about the price of the goods than about how the goods were produced and what impacts they have on the environment. Changes will come from people first. Use your power: be an informed and conscious consumer !
